About
"... She's more like her uncle than she thinks. I see how she doesn't cry,
and I finally know what he meant when he said, 'Whatever it takes.'
She embodied it."
Lieutenant General Aleta Claire is no stranger to war. As young as the rising nation of Graille and the rest of New Terra, she has lived it to the point of breathing smoke and gunfire in the dreams of her childhood. Every problem in her life has risen from this -- what she has come to know as the Resistance War -- and the search for peace seems endless, if not impossible. However, for Aleta and the rest of her Phoenix-Graille Corps, there is nothing more sought after. They continue to fight, even as the casualties mount ever higher, and behind it she must also face politics that are all too quickly spiraling out of control. Already the Corps commander knows that, soon, there won't be anything else she can do to help.
But the coming of a man from her childhood suddenly brings unfathomable options to the table. Caught between her morals and the lives of those she leads, Aleta realizes that the solution to the entire war is much more dangerous than she first imagined. How much of herself can she compromise before this war ends?
